Cinemark’s quarterly earnings call offered no hints as to progress with DCIP.

ISDCF plans the industry’s first open 3-D luminance test Tuesday morning, March 24, in Burbank. The test is designed to compare appropriately color-timed 3-D images at luminance levels of 14 ft-L, 10 ft-L, 6 ft-L, and in 4.5 ft-L, as measured through the glasses. The industry standard for 2-D images is 14 ft-L, while the norm for presenting 3-D images today is 4.5 ft-L, measured through the glasses.

The sale of Technicolor Digital Cinema was reported last month. Not included in this report was Thomson’s announcement to sell Grass Valley, a well-known manufacturer of broadcast servers, Premier Retail Networks (PRN), operator of in-store advertising networks, and its stake in Screenvision, the 2nd largest cinema advertisement network in the country.
