Ron Perleman decided to relinquish his shares of Panavision and allow creditors to take over in a debt restructuring plan.

Mike Fidler, Sony’s EVP that led the formation of its Digital Cinema Solutions and Services group, is reported to be stepping down and turning the reins over to Gary Johns, who is currently VP of Sony’s Digital Cinema Systems Division. The Mike’s DCSS group is responsible for Sony’s digital cinema deployment financing, and Gary’s DCSD group handles direct sales. Mike’s role within Sony is well-known as an intrepreneur, and his departure is a signal that the business, in Sony’s eyes, is maturing.
