- The ITU reached agreement this month on Ultra High-Definition Television (UHDTV). The format supports a 7680×4320 image raster, 60fps, and 22.2 multichannel sound. A possible application of high resolution transmission is auto-stereoscopic 3-D.
- Yelmo Cines became the first exhibitor in Spain to go all digital across the 400 screen circuit. Yelmo’s digital cinema deployment entity is Arts Alliance Media.
- The Worldwide Digital Screen Count is growing. 58,200 screens are now digitized around the world, with 25,000 of those screens in the US.
