  • After entering a partnership agreement with New Video in January, Cinedigm acquired New Video this month, making Cinedigm a fully capable distributor of independent films and specialty content.
  • Chris Dodd of MPAA demonstrated his ability to learn by declaring SOPA as “history” in a Business Week interview early in the month. At CinemaCon, he talked of the possibility of forging agreements with Internet and tech companies.
  • Image Matters, working with the SMPTE Higher Frame Rate Study Group, announced at NAB a higher frame rate (HFR) evaluation server kit for compression testing. Details can be found on the Image Matters web site.
