  • Kodak sold its patent portfolio to Intellectual Ventures Management LLC and RPX Corp. for US$525M, forming a patent licensing consortium with members Apple, Google, Research In Motion, Microsoft, Amazon.com, Facebook, and others. Kodak arranged in November for US$793M of financing to exit bankruptcy by mid-2013, on condition that a minimum of US$500M was raised in the sale of its patents. No announcement has been made whether Kodak will continue the manufacture of film print stock upon exiting bankruptcy.
  • RealD purchased the 2D-to-3D conversion patents of In-Three from bankrupt Digital Domain for US$5.45M. Looks like RealD is interested in the conversion business.
