AAM won with Hoyts its first non-deployment-related TMS contract, the first such public announcement where the TMS was chosen independent of the deployment entity. In the case of Hoyt’s, the deployment entity is DCIPA. The AAM TMS is one of the few that has a backoffice system for managing booking reports, performance logs, and VPF invoicing. But Hoyt’s is in good company. Regal and AMC are using the Sony TMS, and Cinemark is using the Doremi TMS, all three exhibitors being part of the DCIP deployment. In the UK, Odeon is reported to be considering the Unique Digital TMS.

UK-based Digital Funding Partners announced Sir Hayden Phillips as chairman. Sir Hayden was formerly Permanent Secretary at the Department for Culture, Media and Sport.

Cinedigm sold off consultancy Core Technology Services Inc. and the Ezzi Net webhosting business, as part of an effort to cut operations not directly related to digital cinema.

Sony Electronics scored a 545 screen deal with TOHO Cinemas, Japan’s largest cinema chain.
