The European Commission has set aside €4 million ($5.4 million) over the next two years to help European cinemas go digital. Priority will go to arthouse cinemas screening “a substantial share” of European films.

Vue Entertainment, a leading UK operator of multiplex cinemas, has reached an agreement in principle with Sony Europe to install 4K digital cinema projection systems across its circuit.
Cinedigm announced digital deployments agreements with Cobb Theatres and Dickinson Theatres. Cobb is a member of CBG, and will convert 170 screens. Dickinson will convert 250 screens.
